Warm up was a 2 multiple choice AP problems. Looked at calendar for remainder of quarter and then looked at volume with vertical stacks of cylinders. Will do more of these. Also collected 1998 AP test.
Notes from board [the calendar here is out of date, look at Weds post]
Homework
miscellaneous AP multiple choice problems (due Weds 4/5)
Gave out presentation project information in DS and ranked options for most desired topics. Warm up in class dealt with simplifying to evaluate limits including factoring sum/difference of squares. Re-examined washer method volume with vertical axis of revolution, and then did an AP-style problem finding the area of a region and then revolving it both on a horizontal axis and a vertical axis. Introduced solids of known cross sections and looked at visuals for how they are formed to help motivate their volume formula, which is integral of the area function. Worked through one example, will do more on Friday.
