Honors: More with implicit differentiation. Now that we can find dy/dx, how do we actually use it, with two variables? Worked through example involving circle and slope at points.

Tuesday
AP: Presentation by AF and CC about local maxima and minima and the first derivative test. Went over sign chart method and how to justify local maxes and mins. Notes here . Handed out practice problems (Due Tuesday) to work on ahead of semester exam; practice problems can be turned in exam day for some extra credit.
Wednesday
AP: Worked on sign chart analytical examples for finding and classifying relative extrema.
Honors: Played the Tangent Line game matching F, F', and its tangent line at a specified point. When finished, each group continued working on the implicit differentiation homework due Friday. Announced that a study guide for the semester exam will be passed out Friday. We will do an Hour of Code activity in class that day, and solutions for the study guide will be posted below.
Thursday
AP: Presentation by JP on concavity and the second derivative test. Looked at analytical example and then graphical interpretations of how the second derivative's positivity, negativity, or zero impacts the shape of the curve. Lecture notes
