Most of the class was out on senior retreat,
Wednesday
Took the assessment on continuity during DS. Used voting devices and whiteboards to think about answers to conceptual questions related to limits, continuity, and the Intermediate Value Theorem. Made foldable booklets which will hold our formulas and theorems to use throughout the year. Worked through using the IVT to find a zero and also to find a particular value of c.

AP Multiple choice problems on limits [blank copy here]
due Friday
Worked in small groups looking over AP limit multiple choice problems, submitted answers online to check with key. Worked through IVT multiple choice problems from old AP tests together, using graphical examples to illustrate meaning of continuity and how it implies the meaning of the IVT. Then began inquiry into the graphical interpretation of the limit definition of derivative, which calculates the slope at a single point. Here is the applet I showed in class. [Here is a video that summarizes the limit definition of derivative if you are/were confused.]. HW problems deal with the IVT.
