No school due to MLKjr Day.
Tuesday
AP: Due to not having class on Friday unexpectedly, curve sketching and antiderivative hw extended to Thurs. Started class with matching game with 30 cards having graph of F, number line of F', and number line of F''. Then moved on to some re-writing techniques involving polynomial anti-derivatives. Had time in class to work on homework.
Homework: Due thurs: p. 249: 15-34
Wednesday
AP: In DS, provided time to work on first antiderivative homework assignment.
Honors: Turned in test corrections. Continued more related rates examples. Adjusted homework assignment due to missed classes. Homework is now:
p. 149: 15-27 (skip 17a). It is due at the end of class on Friday.

Thursday
AP: Studied the chain rule for integrals. In a nutshell, if the derivative of the inner function of an integrand is multiplying the outer function, then you know that the derivative involves the chain rule. So you want to recognize the structure of these problems. Sometimes it involves noticing that your function is "almost" the derivative--that is, it only differs by some numerical factor that you can adjust for.
We also looked at how to Find C. It requires having additional information, usually called initial conditions.

Homework: p 249: 35-42, 55-67
Friday
AP: Looked at a differential equation example involving separation of variables which resulted in an exponential growth function.
Honors: More work in class with related rates homework. Due Monday.
