Went over AP derivative rules packet in small groups. Briefly looked at algebraic perspective on position-velocity-acceleration through a multi-part word problem with a given position function.

Took assessment during DS. Warm up involved position, velocity, and acceleration. Did P-V-A problems in groups and shared procedures with class. Then learned about linear approximation, using a tangent line to approximate the value of a curved function.

Friday
Warm up was to make a function differentiable. Did several practice problems together, including finding the line with a given slope tangent to a curve (the slope is given, but not the point). Used a graph of f and g to use similar to a table to find the derivative of a function composed of f and g. Did a problem related to motion using a table of velocity values to estimate the value of acceleration by just finding the average rate of change (slope) between two points. Passed out handout, worked on that.
