Today was a B-day. Answered some questions to prep for assessment. We took the assessment on applying the FTC, average value, definite integral properties, and area between curves. Those who finished early worked on the AP test due Wednesday (see last Friday's post for digital copy).
Then answered some "deep questions" dealing with calculus concepts using the voting eggs. Here are the questions, and the board notes including examples: link
Homework:
- Due Weds. is the 2003 AP calculus calculator active Multiple choice section
- Last day to re-assess for Q3 is Friday
Today was a re-assessment day in DS. Began section on volume with discussion of volumes of revolution and noting that a rectangle that is rotated around the x-axis becomes a cylinder. Further discussion of this idea led to the formula for volume of a solid of revolution using the disk method.
